The PYP Exhibition

The PYP Exhibition is a grand affair where the 5th graders have to do everything and the teachers only guide us. We (5th grdrs.) had started to talk about the PYP exhibition from the 31st of March which was the 1st time Miss Poonam and Miss Laxmi told us abut it. That day we even had started off with brain storming some burning issues which are being caused globally and after brain storming some ideas we had to pick 1 topic and write about it. by the 2nd to 4th day we decided that we all will not do the same topic we can do the topic we write about it. We came down to these topics:
  • Endangered animals,
  • Pollution leading to Global Warming,
  • Drugs, and
  • Aids.

I am in the Pollution leads toGlobal Warming.Soon after that we started making our unit title, central idea and inquiry points. very soon after that we finalized our unit title, central idea and inquiry points.
Theme: Sharing the planet.
Unit title: Only Sollution. Stop Pollution.
Cental idea: : Global warming is a serious threat to the Earth, and it is our responsibility to stop pollution in order to prevent global warming and save our planet.
Inquiry points:
· What is global warming?
· What is pollution?
· How does pollution lead to global warming?
· How does it affect us?
· What is our responsibility to reduce pollution and global warming?
· What are the changes which are being caused due to pollution and global warming?
· What will happen to us if global warming continues for the next 10 years?
· Why and how is it caused?
· What are the points of view of the people about pollution and global warming?

we have even been taliking abut the profiles, attitudes, concepts, skills and pther things in PYP. We have been doing many thinngs as a group and as an individual. We have been sharing sites, Ideas on Unit titles,central ideas, inquiry points, how best might we learn,assigned each other responsibilities, shared actions etc.etc.we were supposed to make our own inquiry points. The inquiry points above are the nes i have made on my own and i have started working towards it, I have started my individual research. I have even made a plan about what I wat to do and things like that. I have made 2 planners on my action plan, 1 word and 1 ppt about PYP. on the final day each group has to present it in atleast 3 ways out of these .they are-dance, drama, poems/songs, charts,p.p.t's. We have already started our work with the dance and the drama.I even have some ideas on what we could wear on the exhibition day and what all can we do to make people aware about this burning issue.A few ideas are:

  • Talk to people and ask them to spread it around.
  • Put up posters around school
  • start a campaign against pollution and global warming

A few ideas for what we could wear on the exhibition's day or when we go for some feild trips are:

  • T-shirts-(Save the Earth)/(Stop Pollution and Global Warming)/(any other slogan)
  • Badges-(Save the Earth)/(any other slogan)
  • Wrist bands-(Save the Earth)/(any other slogan)
  • Caps-(Save the Earth)/(any other slogan)

I am very excited and look forward for the exhibition.
